The Mountains and Elk are Calling

Welcome back to Flashback Friday! We are headed out to Colorado today. Yay!  Darren will be Going Elk hunting. We are going to stay in Vallecito at a campground called Blue Spruce Campground until Thursday when our friends arrive. We will all go up on the mountain and camp so that the men can hunt.  They are all so excited. I have been listening to Darren blow his Elk call for a month now. 🤦‍♀️

Darren, Jeff and Richie have been elk hunting together since 1998.  They have only killed two elk all those years, but they have made memories that will last a life time.   They still talk about all the adventure and miss haps they have had over the years.  If you want to hear some funny hunting stories, just get those three together.

I created a little slide show of some old pictures I found.

This is the first year that I have been with them on a hunting trip.  So what will I do while they hunt?  I don’t have any plans yet, but I will be at home even on the mountain. I will hang out at the campsite with Carol and Kim. I am sure we can find something to do.  I am looking forward to it.  Who knows, I might even come up with another sewing project.

This picture is from a trip we took to South Dekota together back in 2013.  We always have a great time when we are together and I am sure this trip will be no different. 524713175.401366.jpgHaving life long friends is a priceless possesion to have. I am so thankful to have these friends.

Y’all stay tuned to see how this adventure turns out.  I’m excitied to see how it turns out myself and share it with you.

Be sure to live life and love on your family,

We are Darren and Christie Berry We sold our house in April of 2017 and moved into a 24 foot camper. We needed a little bit more room, so in January of 2019 we moved into a 37 foot Class A motorhome. Darren still works a conventional job so we are still tied tied down to the area. We travel as much as time will allow us to. Some people would say that we are homeless, but we have a home and it goes with us where ever we go.
